The opportunity

The team at First Step Advisors, producers of two unique properties, Navigate EdTech and USA EdTech, is looking for a driven, consultative sales professional to grow revenue across two lines of our portfolio: digital sponsorships and delegation memberships, including in-person event sponsorships. This is a contract role built for a true hunter, someone who thrives on opening doors, building relationships, and closing business in the K-12 education space.

This role demands proactive outreach and consistent execution across the full sales cycle, from cultivating leads to building a pipeline. You’ll have the full weight of First Step behind you, but ultimately you will thrive because of an innate desire to get things done. 

We keep a flexible schedule with the expectation that you show up for client meetings and for your team. We do not take shortcuts and we do not miss deadlines (most of the time). We track our work closely and push ourselves to improve constantly.

What you’re selling

  • Navigate EdTech: Digital sponsorships across online publications and digital channels reaching K-12 leaders
  • USA EdTech: Delegation memberships and in-person event sponsorships, including booth and signage packages 

What we are looking for

Required

  • 5+ years of sales experience in the K-12 education industry
  • Deep understanding of the K-12 market landscape, including how companies in this space think about marketing and sales
  • An established network of relevant contacts you can activate quickly
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • A proven consultative selling approach: you listen first, then solve

Preferred

  • Experience in B2B sales environments, particularly with multi-stakeholder deals
  • Familiarity with sponsorship or media sales alongside service-based selling

Compensation

  • Contract - work from home, flexible hours
  • 2026 OTE: $74,000
  • Monthly retainer, plus commission on closed revenue
